Jack Wen
Who am I?
Hello, my name is Jack Wen. I was raised in Seattle, and I received a full scholarship from Taiwan’s Ministry of Education to study at Tamkang University in Taipei. I knew I wanted to study Computer Science, so when I was looking for colleges, my main priority was to find one that was outside of the United States, so that I could learn about the culture of other countries. Taiwan is where my Dad grew up, so it is the perfect place to achieve all of my preferences. I’m also able to visit my grandparents much more easily, as I can take the subway and the high speed rail to their apartment.
In the past, I have made various interesting projects, with most of them relating to technology in some way. Most recently, I have made a Swiss Tournament manager, written in Dart using Flutter. I’ve also made some Bad Apple!! videos by playing the black and white animation on various different things, such as a 3d printer or a 2d array of Pokémon cards. When I was in middle school, I made a 4 bit adder from IC chips, as well as making several video games at DigiPen summer classes. I also enjoy building PCs.
When I have free time, I usually am either meeting with my friends to play the Pokemon Trading Card Game at tournaments, or working on my next Bad Apple!! Video. I also like to design interesting 3d printable objects, such as this deck box that I made, or working on RC vehicles, such as my RC cars and planes. Something else I like to do is make food for my family and friends. They seem to like my macarons, so I make them often.
